1. Introduction

Welcome to ChessIconic (“we,” “our,” or “the app”). By downloading, accessing, or using ChessIconic, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the app.

2. Use of the App

  • ChessIconic is an offline chess app that allows you to track your games, analyze moves, and improve your chess skills.
  • The app can connect to Chess.com and Lichess.org APIs to fetch your games for analysis.
  • You agree to use the app only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
  • Your game data and any other personal data are stored locally on your device and are never shared with third parties.

3. Subscriptions and Payments

Some features of ChessIconic may require a subscription or one-time purchase. Payments are processed securely through RevenueCat. We do not collect or store your payment information.

  • By subscribing, you agree to pay the applicable fees for your selected plan.
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled in accordance with the policies of RevenueCat and the relevant app store.
  • Refunds, cancellations, and billing issues are handled by RevenueCat and the app store provider.

4. App Store and Google Play Terms

If you downloaded ChessIconic from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, the following additional terms apply.

Apple App Store

  • These Terms are an agreement between you and the developer of ChessIconic only, and not with Apple Inc.
  • Apple is not responsible for the app or its content and has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support services.
  • Your use of the app must comply with Apple’s applicable Media Services Terms and Conditions.
  • In the event the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price for the app (if applicable). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
  • Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims related to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, or claims arising under consumer protection or privacy laws.
  • You acknowledge that Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

Google Play Store

  • If you downloaded the app from Google Play, these Terms are an agreement between you and the developer of ChessIconic only, and not with Google LLC.
  • Google is not responsible for the app, its content, or any support or maintenance related to the app.
  • Your use of the app must comply with Google Play’s Terms of Service and applicable policies.
  • Payments, subscriptions, cancellations, and refunds made through Google Play are handled by Google and are subject to Google Play’s billing terms.

5. Intellectual Property

  • All original content in ChessIconic, including the app design, interface elements, graphics, and original code, is owned by ChessIconic or its licensors.
  • You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from proprietary app content without prior written permission.

6. Third-Party Content and APIs

ChessIconic may connect to external services like Chess.com and Lichess.org to fetch your game history and statistics. Your data from these services is accessed only with your explicit consent and is stored locally on your device. We do not collect, share, or store this data on our servers.

7. User Data and Privacy

  • All games, analysis, and other personal data are stored locally on your device.
  • We do not access, collect, or share your personal game data.
  • We are not responsible for data loss resulting from device failure, loss, theft, or user error.

8. Third-Party Services

ChessIconic uses RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and purchases. Your use of third-party services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

ChessIconic is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, secure, or available at all times.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ChessIconic shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or related to your use of the app, including but not limited to loss of data or loss of access.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of your country or state of residence, without regard to conflict of law principles.
